Netball WA wishes to congratulate the 15s Schools Sport WA (SSWA) Netball Team on their gold medal victory at the 2022 School Sport Australia Championships which took place in Canberra in July.

SSWA has been responsible for the development and promotion of representative school sport in Western Australia since its establishment in 1909.

The main purpose of SSWA programs is to promote, organise and coordinate sporting competitions for students at local, regional and interstate level.

Members of the SSWA state team are selected from students in both public and private school who then compete in the championships.

Of the players who represented Western Australia at the competition, the following athletes were also selected for the All-Australian Team:

- Tegan Begovic (Santa Maria College)

- Halle Richards (Warwick Senior High School)

- Emily Rivers (Perth College)

- Clara Wigley (Mater Dei College)

This was the first time that the School Sport Australia Championships have taken place since being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to being cancelled as a result of COVID-19.

To win gold at the Championships is a fantastic achievement for the team, officials and all the volunteers involved.
