NAIDOC
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. 2025 NAIDOC Theme
The 2025 theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. 2025, NAIDOC Week marks 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience. History
The NAIDOC Netball Carnival was first held in 2004 with 20 teams and has grown significantly in the time since. Now in its 19th year, the NAIDOC Netball Carnival includes over 110 teams each year. Netball WA thanks its major partner Healthway – promoting the Fuel to Go & Play health message to encourage young people to eat healthy; the Insurance Commission of WA – promoting the Belt Up campaign to wear seatbelts and be safe on our roads; and the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries.
Information for All Carnivals
In-line with Netball WA’s major partner Healthway and Netball WA Health Guidelines, this is a drug, smoke, vaping and alcohol-free event. No drugs, smoking, vaping or consumption of alcohol is permitted anywhere in or around the venue. Netball WA reserves the right to deny entry to, or ask any persons suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol to leave the premises. Netball WA reserves the right to deny entry to, and/or ask any spectator/s or participant/s who is found to be aggressive and/or use verbal or physical abuse, against any Netball WA staff member, workforce, spectator/s or participant/s, to leave the grounds for either part of, or the duration of the Competition. Please note that participant behaviours during a game will be dealt with under the World Netball "Rules of Netball" 2024 edition and managed by umpires under the appropriate game management protocols.

To register your interest in entering teams into the Busselton NAIDOC Netball Carnival please complete the Expression of Interest Form. Please note this only registers your interest it does not register your team/s. The Team Nomination Form and the Player & Officials Registration Form must be completed to officially register your team/s.
