Born on 16 March 1928, Nancy Dorrington spent much of her life volunteering. Whether it was at her netball club and association, her local RSL Club or within the general community, Nancy fulfilled many volunteer roles over a long and sustained period. In netball, her service culminated in her being awarded Life Membership in 1977.
Nancy will be remembered for her tireless contribution to the Netball WA Auxiliary Committee (1966-1977) where most notably, she undertook work in the association canteen every Saturday of the winter season. Her commitment to her beloved Bedford Districts Youth Club, where she undertook many roles, was highly valued, as was her advocacy for the sport of netball.
Nancy was a familiar, friendly face and supported hundreds of young girls to play the game at Matthews Netball Centre. This included her daughter and grand-daughters, who she consistently encouraged as they progressed through the Netball WA competitions and pathways.
Nancy passed away aged 94 and is survived by her three children, Grant, Terry and Vicki and their extended families.
