Netball WA is committed to being inclusive, strengthening and building capacity and capability in communities and providing innovative and sustainable netball programs that empower women and girls, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls to ensure our purpose of “To Dream, Play, and Achieve through the Power of Netball” is brought to life.
The role of the Aboriginal Advisory Group is to provide culturally appropriate advice and guidance on various aspects of Netball WA’s programs, competitions, and services as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
In addition, the committee will play an important role in promoting Netball WA pathways and programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women through netball.
Positions being Recruited
- Up to 2 current Aboriginal Grassroots Site Coordinators
- Up to 2 other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community representatives
- Up to 2 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Service Provider representatives
Selection Criteria
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Be an active member of their respective community
- Adhere to the relevant terms of reference
- Attend group meetings as scheduled, either in person or via technology
- Provide feedback, advice and support to Netball WA regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiative, programs and engagement
