Netball WA are thrilled to announce that Helen Robinson has been awarded the May Campbell Medal for her long and outstanding service to Netball at the Sports West Awards.

Ms Robinson has been involved with Netball in Western Australia for over 60 years at a local, State, National and International level. Within such an extensive career she has worn many hats; athlete, umpire, coach, Administrator, Secretary, President, Board Member, Statistician, and Technical Official.

Her journey began as a player in 1957 and continued until 1996. She began her service to Netball as a Secretary at the Pingelly Netball Club, and upon moving to Perth, formed the Checkers Netball Club. She led the club as President from 1970-2000.

Ms Robinson has been a member of Technical Official Advisory Panels and Jury Appeals Panels. She has been appointed by the International Netball Federation, Netball Australia and Netball WA as a Technical official at numerous competitions and has appointed and trained Technical Officials around the world.

Her years of experience, volunteering and expertise led her to be awarded the Netball Australia Service Award for her involvement at the National and International level. She has also received Life Membership at Netball WA, Checkers Netball Club and Southern Districts Netball Association.

She is currently still involved in netball as a Technical Official and holds the position of Chairperson of Southside Demons Netball Club.

Ms Robinson is a highly valued member of the netball community, dedicating her time over many years and many different aspects of this sport. Netball WA congratulates her on a stellar career and this well-deserved achievement.
