Match of the Week: Comets blaze to a win

Curtin Hamersley Comets took on Southwest Jets in round 9 of the GIG WANL competition where Comets blasted their opponents away with a final score of 57-37.

Quarter One

Comets raced away at the starting whistle creating a five-goal lead early in the first term.

Comets’ defenders picked up effortless intercepts in the circle.

Jets trailed by 9 goals at the first break.

Quarter Two

Jets began to play catch up, matching each of Comets’ goals.

Maintaining their consistency, Comets held on to their lead despite Jets’ best efforts.

Comets stayed in the lead, 33 – 21 at half time.

Quarter Three

Some confusion through the midcourt for Jets proved costly, allowing Comets to take the momentum.

Comets’ defenders were in control of Jets’ goal circle, effectively zoning out their opponents.

Comets extended their lead to 17 goals.

Quarter Four

A fiery final quarter from both sides showed a vastly different game than before.

Jets’ midcourt showed great athleticism however Comets closed the game with a 20-goal lead.
