Match of the Week: Armed and ‘Rangerous’

A Tuesday night clash between Rangers and Peel Lightning saw Rangers speed to a win at 65-40.

Highlights

Rangers shooter Georgia Pitt scored 41 of her teams total 65 goals.

Quarter One

The start of the first quarter was a close affair with neither team able to gain the advantage.

Unlucky turnovers were abundant from both sides as miscommunication caused passes to miss hands.

Rangers found a five goal lead in the final minutes of the first term.

Quarter Two

A slow starting second quarter as both teams struggled to find their feet.

Long passes from Lightning proved to be detrimental as they were easily picked up by Rangers’ defenders.

Rangers continued to pull ahead, widening the margin to 16 goals at half time.

Quarter Three

Rangers maintained their momentum in the second half.

Rebounds were aplenty this quarter giving shooters from both sides ample second opportunities for goals.

Lightning fell further behind in goals with their 29 to Rangers 51.

Quarter Four

Rangers gave away some easy passes, allowing Lightning’s midcourt to pick up the ball.

Lightning worked hard in the goal circle in the final term however Rangers closed the game on a 25 goal lead.
