The three-day competition will take place across the WA Day Long weekend from 31 May to 2 June and has become a benchmark for competitors in all areas of our sport looking to progress through the Netball WA Pathway.
In 2024, Wanneroo Districts Netball Association and Perth Netball Association were the Associations to beat, taking home seven premierships each.
Netball WA General Manager – Community Beth Harvey said the Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships brings together some of the State’s some of the best netball talent.
“This is one of the largest and most anticipated competitions on our Community Netball Calendar,” Ms Harvey said
“We expect to see more than 320 teams representing 48 Associations travelling from as far as Kununurra in the Kimberely all the way down to Esperance in the South.”
The 46 divisions feature 13 Metropolitan Associations, 35 Regional and 17 invitational teams from Singapore.
The competition has also become a talent identification opportunity for the best young male netballers in the State, with eight teams, including two Regional Associations sending squads. Wickham Netball Association is travelling as far as 1500+ kms to get to Perth.
“In 2025, the competition will include 17 Teams in the No Limits Division, providing an opportunity for players with an intellectual disability to participate in a competitive and fun environment,” Ms Harvey Said.
“The No Limits participants eagerly await this event each year and there is great friendly rivalry and camaraderie among the teams.
“It is fantastic to see these Championships continue to provide strong, competitive opportunities for so many athletes, coaches and officials providing valuable talent identification.”
Members of the Green Army who are competing across the weekend will also have plenty of opportunities to Feel the Fever. Merchandise stands will be operating every day, and Fever players will be doing a signing session on Monday.
With matches finishing early on Sunday, fans won’t have to miss out on the Fever v Firebirds match on Sunday, 1 June at 2pm WST.
When they aren’t playing or spectating, attendees will also be able to engage with activations from Netball WA’s Partners across the weekend with plenty of fun prizes to be won.
“Netball WA would like to thank our generous partners who continue to support us year-after-year in delivering this competition. To Heathway, promoting the Fuel To Go & Play message, whose assistance means we can build a bigger and better Championship each year for our participants,” Ms Harvey said.
Thank you to our other key partners who support the Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships, the Gold Industry Group, Fortescue, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia promoting the Belt Up campaign, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Town of Cambridge and the Perth Netball Association.
