In 2024, the side took home their equal best of fourth place, and with a high retention of athletes from last year, the team are looking to go one further.
The Marie Little Shield is a competition for female players with an intellectual disability and will be once again held at Queensland’s Nissan Arena from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 September.
The squad will be led by experienced Head Coach Bev Gallager and assisted by coaches Amy Drudi and Jennifer Thompson.
Gallager said she’s excited to be back in her Head Coaching role.
“It’s great, I love being here and I’m really passionate about the girls and doing well at netball,” she said.
“Every year we get better and better, it’s nice to see them grow.”
The squad have been working extra hard during training this year as they eye off their first medal.
“The squad are looking good,” she said.
“We are getting better at skills and match play and are getting way better at competing against the teams who come play against us,
“We definitely want to improve each year, a couple of years ago we went from fifth to fourth and this year we are after South Australia.”
Emma Revell will Captain the side again, assisted for the first time by Vice Captain Sarah Ahnstrom.
