Western Roar toppled for first time since 2023

The Western Roar have officially taken their first loss since 2023 going down to their 2024 Grand Final opponents, the Comets by a single goal.

The Western Roar have officially taken their first loss since 2023 going down to their 2024 Grand Final opponents, the Comets by a single goal.

Comets 53 defeat Western Roar 52

The Comets took a strong four-goal lead in the first quarter which ignited a fire in both sides. 

Comets Jasmah Haywood (30), Sloan Burton (18) and Madeleine Ash (five) were in goals, and were able to apply pressure with their accuracy. 

Roar’s shooters Sophia Lamers (36) and Asha Parsons (16) attempted to pull out all the stops, whilst their defence, headlined by Vice Captain Caitlyn Brown on her 100th game were working around the clock. 

With eight seconds remaining in the game, it was Haywood who tipped the Comets over the edge with one more goal.

West Coast Warriors 47 defeat Peel Lightning 40

It what was bound to be a tight match, the fourth and fifth placed teams were separated by a small margin every quarter. 

Warriors Jamaica Jauncey (36), Emily Dwyer (10) and Hana Stoked (one) were in goals, a combination that allowed them to win the final three quarters. 

Rebecca Lill (19), Marene Peyper (15), Chelsea Cook (five) and Rylee Norton (one) were steady in goals even against Warriors Scarlet Jauncey and Taylor Finch.

Southside Demons 53 defeat Souwest Jets 43

Despite a 10-goal loss, the Souwest Jets will be pleased with their efforts on Wednesday night to bring themselves back into the game against the second-placed Demons. 

The Demons found themselves up by a mere three goals at quarter time and pushed for the lead in the second. 

Demons Club captain stepped up with a huge 36 goals, alongside Georgia Ettridge (10), Georgia Pitt (five) and Brooke Marques (six). 

The third quarter belonged to the Jets, winning by 11 goals with Rylee Hall (36) and Meretini Fuimaono (seven) sharing goals.

Fremantle Sharks 72 defeat Rangers 39

The Fremantle Sharks season is looking up after a 43-goal win over the Rangers. 

Shark Kasey Ridout was back to her best form with 43 goals to herself, joined by Sophie Eastaugh’s 20 and Mwai Kumwenda’s nine. 

The side were dominant from start to finish and are starting to produce some of their best netball this season. 

Ranger Aisha Morcombe put in a solid effort with 30 goals, but the side could not keep up with the pace and accuracy of Sharks goals.
