The 21/U Western Roar side also locked in a place in the big dance, after defeating the Rangers by 24 goals.
Comets 50 defeat Demons 45
The Preliminary Final between Comets and Demons was a tense, high-pressure contest from the opening whistle, with neither side scoring for the first two minutes. Comets took the early lead, but Demons refused to let them break away, continually clawing back the margin and even taking the second quarter. Demons’ defenders Hayley Evans and Chanel Gomes made sure any Comets errors were punished, keeping their side within reach. However, Comets lifted in the second half and, by the final quarter, were able to maintain their pace and execute their game plan more effectively to secure the 50-45 win. Aitaua Enari led the way with 30 goals, supported by Sloan Burton with 18 and Madeleine Ash with two, as Comets booked another Open division Grand Final clash with Roar — a match-up that has featured every year since 2023.
