Netball WA wishes to congratulate Nathan Cera on his selection in the Suncorp Super Netball umpire squad for the remainder of the 2022 season, following his performance at the recent National Netball Championships.

This appointment is not only a recognition of Cera’s talent, but it also provides him with the opportunity to further develop his skills in an elite competition environment.

Since starting as an umpire for the University of Western Australia’s social netball competitions, Cera was awarded Umpire of the Year for the GIGWANL in 2018 and umpired at the 2022 National Netball Championships in Tasmania.

Senior Officials Coordinator Krista Stirling said that the SSN contract was thoroughly deserved.

“We are very proud of Nathan and how far he has come in his career,” Stirling said.

“He sets a great example for our younger umpires and has truly earnt this opportunity.”

Cera said that this was a very exciting opportunity.

“As an umpire I've always aspired to make a positive contribution to the games I officiate,” Cera said.

“To be able contribute and be a part of SSN is a fantastic opportunity.”

Cera has now officiated games in Round 8 and Round 10 of the Suncorp Super Netball Season.
