More than 300 teams braved both the sun and rain across the WA Day long weekend, competing in the Fuel To Go and Play Association Championships.

Featuring 16 invitational teams from Singapore, two interstate teams from the Northern Territory and West Australian teams from as far as Esperance and Kununurra, the best of the best descended on Mathews Netball Centre for the competition.

Wanneroo Netball Association and Perth Netball Association dominated across the competition, both taking home seven flags.

Wanneroo took out the boy’s competition with two teams in the division, demonstrating the upcoming talented male netball players in the State.

In 2024, the No Limits division featured 14 teams, providing an opportunity for players with an intellectual disability to participate in a safe, enjoyable and competitive netball environment.

As part of Netball WA’s Centenary year, the “History Lane” walkthrough exhibition was a popular way to find some quiet over the weekend. Attendees were able to take a walk-through time, reading and viewing the century long history of Netball within WA.

The Championships were possible thanks to the support of Healthway promoting the Fuel to Go & Play, Gold Industry Group, Fortescue, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia promoting the Belt Up campaign, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Town of Cambridge and the Perth Netball Association.
