The McGowan Government has thrown its support behind Australian netball by securing Perth as the host city for the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final.
In yet another sporting coup for WA, the Grand Final will be held at RAC Arena on Sunday July 3.
In addition, the Origin Australian Diamonds will be based in Perth in July for a training camp ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Netball WA CEO Simone Hansen thanked the WA Government for investing in netball and showcasing the biggest game of the season in Perth.
“It is great to see more major sporting events being brought to Perth by the WA Government,” Ms Hansen said.
“This is very exciting news for all of Western Australia’s passionate sports fans and a great result for the WA netball community that will drive greater interest and participation in our sport.
“The 2022 Super Netball Grand Final at the world-class RAC Arena is going to be an amazing event. I encourage all sports fans that have never been to a Super Netball game before to put this game on your calendar.”
