Netball WA and West Coast Fever is pleased to announce the WA All Stars team to face West Coast Fever in their opening pre-season match of the year.
It’s the second consecutive year Fever will face the All Stars, with the match not only marking an important component of Fever’s pre-season, but also a fantastic opportunity for some of Western Australia’s best netballers to step on court against a Suncorp Super Netball opposition.
The team features a number of rising stars from the Gold Industry Group WA Netball League, with players from both the Open and Men’s divisions to bib up for the All Stars on Saturday night at the Gold Netball Centre.
Fever’s extended squad members Sloan Burton, Shannon Eagland and Courtney Kruta will play for the All Stars, which will be coached by Lorraine Ward and Tracey Swami.
West Coast Fever General Manager (Pathways & Performance), Sue Gaudion, said it would be a great challenge for Fever.
“We know the depth of talent within WA is immense, so we’re really excited to get this group of athletes together to go up against Fever,” Gaudion said.
“It will be a great test for our Fever athletes, and their first hit out of the year, before we head to Kalgoorlie to play the Lightning, and then Adelaide to face the Thunderbirds.”
“We congratulate all the athletes selected in this squad, and look forward to Saturday night.”
The match will be umpired by local officials Christine Johnston, Bethan Duffill and Arnah Mallon.
