Can the Western Roar repeat their three-division blitz from 2024? Or will another Club swoop in and disrupt?
Open: Western Roar v Comets
GIG WANL fans are no strangers to this Grand Final combination. 2025 marks the third year in a row the Western Roar and Comets have faced off in the big dance. In those three years, they are currently at an even split with Comets taking the victory in 2023 and Western Roar running away by one-goal last year.
Both teams are stacked with talent, featuring a combined six athletes returning from the victorious West Coast fever Super Netball Reserves Grand Final campaign.
Roar and the Comets have met three times so far this year. Roar took the win in both Round Four by 15 goals and the Qualifying Final by 14, whilst the Comets notched a one-goal win in Round 11.
West Coast Fever Training Partner and two-time Jill McIntosh Medallist Caitlyn Brown will lead Roar on Saturday. The side's shooting end includes the formidable duo of Sophia Lamers and Asha Parsons who have built a strong connection over the season.
Maddie Hunter has come back into the fold in 2025 following injury and has rounded out a very talented mid-court with the likes of the Kenny sisters.
The Comets once again sit under the leadership of the cool, calm and collected Georgia Morgan who brings her decisive nature to the side.
Jasmah Haywood has stolen the show in 2025, her ability to shoot for high volume has been incredibly important. Sloan Burton also made her return to the competition this year and has brought her experience to the team, able to read and create play across the court.
In defence, Liz Dronfield and Mia Henderson are a connected final wall to goal that you don’t want to face.

21/U: Western Roar v West Coast Warriors
This 21/U Grand Final match up will have most people in the Netball WA community scratching their heads. The two sides have drawn not once… but twice this year!
On their third face-off, it was the reigning premiers Western Roar who got away by six goals.
The Western Roar 21/U team are well known for capturing experienced talent, with State Team representatives making up their squad.
Teagan Begovic is well rounded in the Goal Attack bib, an offensive powerhouse with Grace Millichamp in goals. In defence, Emily Rivers, Kate Cunningham and Eva Petkovic are known to make impact.
For the Warriors, Ava Buselich has come into stardom this year. The Defender's ability to pressurise her opponent, find intercepts and turnovers and be an overall nuisance is a credit to the team.
Skyla Payne topped the League in goals for 2025, her long reach often allowing her to find goals others can’t.
Charli Hynes, with experience in Western Australia’s State Teams, brings a level-headed nature that is rare for athletes of her age.

Men: Western Roar v West Coast Warriors
The Western Roar have qualified for their seventh Grand Final, an incredible effort by a dominant team.
The side have won the last three consecutive Grand Finals, and this year, under the leadership of Connor Rawlings, they have won 10 of their games.
Tom Harper, Daniel Cools and Luke Spadano make up their defensive unit.
Down the opposite end of the court, Tom Gorman and Max Denholm take the main responsibility for shooting. Denholm has had a breakout year in 2025 and topped the Men’s League for shooting.
The Warriors have won three of their four match-ups with the Roar this season, including a shock one-goal thriller in the Qualifying final.
The Warriors have been led by Dravyn Lee-Tauroa in 2025, a change that has seen an influx of energy to the side.
Toby Fountain has been a gun in goals in his first year as a contracted player. He finished second in the League for shooting, an impressive feat for such a young player. Declan Mensing, Joel Anderson and Ian Brady are a mid-court unit you do not want to underestimate.
They have a unique side where many of their shooters and attackers can also hold their own in defence, with Frederick Taylor, Ian Brady and William Linter often showing their versatility.
