Mount Hawthorn Netball Club has been nominated for the Suncorp NetSetGO Centre in the Spotlight as part of the Suncorp NetSetGO Week 2021 celebrations. We recognise the hard work and dedication the club has put into their Suncorp NetSetGO program and the positive impact it has made on the community.
Mount Hawthorn Netball Club has 9 teams in their Suncorp NetSetGO program, with 83 participants in total. Each team has its own coach, assistant coach and manager, who are all volunteer parents of the players on the team.
Whilst many of the participants have played since year 2, each year they continue to grow and add to existing teams or form new teams.
How does Mount Hawthorn Netball Club stand out from others?
The club has been running for years now, and has always been driven by a love of netball and the principle of having fun first and foremost. The committee of 7 meet regularly to ensure that their values are carried out in everything they do. Their core values are; play, belong, positivity, opportunity, friends and fun!
The Mount Hawthorn Netball Club take a lot of pride in their players and the community the have built, and carry these values out on the court at all times.
What piece of advice does the Mount Hawthorn Netball Club have for any centres thinking of offering Suncorp NetSetGO?
"Do it! Netball is a wonderful team sport for girls and boys to learn skills, leadership, team work and resilience!
