Blazers Netball Club has been nominated for the Suncorp NetSetGO Centre in the Spotlight as part of the Suncorp NetSetGO Week celebrations. We recognise the hard work and dedication the club has put into their Suncorp NetSetGO program and the impact it has made on the community.
The Club currently has nine Set and Go teams, with a Net program running for the younger participants later in the year, training and playing at Success Netball Association. The club is supported by many great volunteer coaches that put a lot of work into helping young players develop from their first year to them entering Junior competition.
Blazers Netball Club president, Margaret, is highly regarded by the club members, described as being a committed and tirelessly working to ensure the season runs smoothly and everyone in the family-oriented club has everything they need. The club was established just four years ago and is a place for great opportunities within the community, as coaches, umpires, players and spectators.

What do you think makes Blazers Netball Club stand out from others?
I think our Club stands out purely because it is our Club and we are extremely proud of it. We have great coaches and strong parent support with a focus on good sportsmanship and friendship and not just about winning. We genuinely love the kids that are members and their extended families. Our volunteers and coaches put a lot of time and effort into our littlest members as we realise that they are the future of the Club and the Association.
What piece of advice does Blazers Netball Club have for any centres thinking of offering Suncorp NetSetGO?
To focus on the kids and make learning fun and integrated. Make them feel like they are part of something great and involve the rest of the family. Give the members a Club where they feel safe and supported while they grow and develop on their netball journey.
