The 2025 Boorloo NAIDOC Carnival Presented by Fortescue, once again platformed the next generation of First Nations Netball talent.

Held at the Gold Netball Centre and Perth Netball Association, the Boorloo NAIDOC Carnival is one of the biggest events on the Netball WA calendar, falling during NAIDOC Weeks 50th year milestone.

The morning began with a Welcome to Country by Ingrid Cumming, engaging the athletes before their day of competition.

Elders who came to support were able to spend time in the programs room, having a yarn with those who may have needed a break from the action.

The Carnival was packed with talent with 94 teams participating during the day and plenty more people in coaching, managing and umpiring roles as well as supporters.

Athletes played with the 2025 NAIDOC Ball, designed by Noongar woman Tieralee Johns thanks to the support of the Insurance Commission of Western Australia promoting the Belt Up message.

Thank you to Presenting Partner of the Carnival Fortescue, Netball WA Principal Partner Gold Industry Group, Major Partners Healthway, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia, and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for their continued support.

Netball Australia First Nations Engagement Manager Beryl Friday and Shooting Stars Executive Officer Helen Ockerby presented the athletes with their awards.
