The Sharks just got home against the Demons 62-60 in thrilling fashion while in the other top four clash the Roar overcame the Comets 63-53 to go top.
After a fast start by the Demons, the Sharks were able to get their footing and surge ahead by five at quarter time. Captain Jess Penny was instrumental in defence, finding ways to gain the ball from the Demons’ shooters.
Demons came back in the second quarter, dramatically increasing their scoring rate, winning the quarter 22-15 to take a slim lead at half time.
The Sharks then did just enough to edge ahead in the back half of the game as they won the last two quarters by two goals each. Larrissa Harrison provided a safe pair of hands in the circle as she scored 45 Goals.
The win secured Sharks’ place in finals and locked in the top four with one round left.
Roar were ruthless in their matchup with the Comets but were made to wait until the second quarter to push ahead in the game.
They won the second quarter by seven goals and despite a slight comeback in the third by the Comets it wasn’t enough to contend with 40 goals from Sophia Lamers.
The win gives the Roar a little bit of breathing room at the top of the table with 11 wins compared to the Demons and Comets on 10. Their points buffer and superior percentage makes them heavy favourites to finish the regular season on top.
In Mandurah, the Jets got their very first win of the season over the Lightning 54-49 thanks to a fast start. After the Jets took the first quarter by seven goals, the Lightning couldn’t get back in it as the rest of the game stayed too close to see a large score change.
Despite the win, the Jets still stay on the bottom of the ladder but now join the Lightning with one win for the year.
In the 20/U Division, Rangers had a big 62-29 win against the Warriors to break into the top four on percentage.
Playing in Lesmurdie, Rangers were in a league of their own as they restricted the opposition to single digit goal totals in every quarter while piling on 21 goals in the first term. While their scoring slowed as the game progressed they still won all four quarters to romp home with the win.
The Sharks lost their game against the Demons 52-35 to slide down to fifth as the East Freo side fell behind early and weren’t able to regain control of the game.
It was a low scoring game but once the Demons got ahead they didn’t let up and narrowly won the second half.
The two results lock in the Demons’ top two spot behind the undefeated Roar. While the Sharks and Rangers will play in a winner takes all Round 14 encounter next week to decide who will sneak into the top four.
In the Men’s Division, the Comets achieved an upset win over the Warriors 53-48 as the Men’s competition continues to surprise in the later stages.

The Roar made no shocks winning their game against the Demons with a comfortable 69-36 goal win.
After losing two weeks ago and having a close call last week, it was a strong return to form for the Roar who will be looking to convert their dominant season into finals success.
