Jennifer Skinner from UWA Netball Club and the Perth Netball Association was recognised for more than 30 years of commitment to the Netball community in Western Australia as the proud recipient of the 2021 Netball WA Service to Sport Award.

Presented at the opening ceremony of the Fuel to Go and Play Association Championships, the award recognises the significant, sustained and lasting contribution to netball made by an individual in Western Australia at various levels over a sustained period of time.

Jenni's commitment to netball at a club and association level was acknowledged in her nomination along with her true dedication and service to the sport.

Known for her approachable, friendly, and professional nature, as well as her true commitment to developing netballers of all ages and abilities, Jenni has been a valued member of the Netball Community in WA since 1971.

She has contributed significantly to the UWA Netball Club over the past 30 years, with countless hours spent each week developing a strong, inclusive club environment and committee.

It is Jenni’s dedication and ongoing efforts that have led to the success of UWA Netball Club and their player’s love for the sport, being competitive and enjoyable simultaneously.

While playing a significant role in the development and support of UWA players and coaches, Jenni has spent time upskilling herself as well. She has been developing her own coaching skills, attaining coaching accreditations at the Foundation, Developing and Intermediate levels.

Key roles that Jenni has undertaken during her time with netball include:

  • Club Committee Member of UWA Netball Club including Vice-President, General Committee Member and Secretary from 1995-2021.
  • UWA Selection & Grading Committee 1995 - 2021
  • Introduced junior teams to UWA in 2015
  • UWA Club Coach since 1988
  • MLC Club Coach 2003-2006
  • Perth Netball Association Coach 2008, 2011, 2015 & 2021
  • PNA Open Grading Committee 2010 -2021
  • Club Player for 32 years

Jenni now adds the 2021 Service to Sport Award to her Life Membership of UWA Netball Club and Perth Netball Association.
