Season’s finest recognised at The Net Ball

The most outstanding performances across Western Australian community netball, the Gold Industry Group WA Netball League and West Coast Fever’s Suncorp Super Netball season were recognised at The Net Ball awards on Friday, September 24 at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event included the presentation of West Coast Fever’s Stacey Marinkovich Medal to star goal-shooter Jhaniele Fowler, the GIG WANL state league’s Jill McIntosh Medal to rising star Ruth Aryang, and the inaugural induction of eight icons of the game to the Netball WA Court of Champions.

Aryang, from ECU Souwest Jets, won the Jill McIntosh Medal by a solitary vote with a total of 18 ahead of Caitlin Brown (West Coast Warriors) on 17 votes and Ellie Smart (Peel Lightning) on 15 votes.

Fowler won the Stacey Marinkovich Medal with 55 votes ahead of captain Courtney Bruce on 35 votes and rising star Sunday Aryang on 21 votes.
