West Coast Fever and Netball WA has unveiled Sara Francis-Bayman as the new General Manager - Performance and Pathway.

Francis-Bayman will take over the role immediately, replacing Sue Gaudion.

The 84-Test England Rose will move out of the Assistant Coach role she has filled for the past two seasons to take on the General Manager’s position.

Since retiring from playing netball in 2017, Francis-Bayman has coached in her own right in the UK with the Loughborough Lightning as well as serving as an Assistant Coach for Fever and Scotland.

While at Loughborough she also spent time as the Director of Netball for Loughborough University, where she provided strategic direction, leadership and oversaw the elite programme.

She was also Netball WA’s Assistant Talent Coach in 2023, working with West Australian pathway athletes helping them prepare for the National Netball Championships.

Netball WA Group Chief Executive Officer Simone Hansen said: “Throughout the process it became really clear that Sara was an outstanding candidate.

“Her playing, coaching and administration resume alongside her experience working in high pressure environments means that she is well suited to this role.

“We’ve got the added bonus that Sara has strong established relationships with the current West Coast Fever playing and high-performance team as well as Netball WA’s pathway and talent programs.

“I, like everyone, is very excited by this appointment and I wish Sara all the best in the role.”

Francis-Bayman said: “I'm thrilled to be taking on the General Manager’s role at West Coast Fever.

“Sue has done an incredible job of securing success for the Club, on and off the court, in recent years and I look forward to continuing that great work to ensure that Fever are a driving force in netball for the foreseeable future.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Dan, the staff and players to add more magic moments into the rich history of this Club.”
