The Southwest Jets and Peel Lightning went toe-to-toe in Round 3 of GIG WANL, underlining just how tight this season is shaping up to be.

Lightning 45 defeat Jets 43

Both sides started strongly, trading goals through a fast-paced opening term.

Lightning maintained strong, consistent control of the ball, with Teddi Lowe applying relentless defensive pressure through the midcourt.

For the Jets, Milly Wicks injected a surge of energy, sending the teams into the final quarter locked at 34–34.

Ultimately, it was Lightning who held on in the closing minutes, powered by 38 goals from Kasey Ridout.

Comets 52 defeat Demons 48

The Comets are back to their fighting best, claiming a four-goal win over a Southside Demons side that has started the season strongly.

In defence, Tori Ranson and Abbey Hanley were instrumental for the Demons, repeatedly disrupting Comets possession.

At the other end, Madeline Ash sealed the result for the Comets with 42 goals.

Sharks 55 defeat Rangers 42

The Sharks struck first, with smart strategy and decision-making setting the tone early.

Rangers shooter Emily Cramond led the way with 24 goals, with captain Myra Ugle adding 13 in a strong effort to keep the side in touch.

The Rangers stayed in the contest throughout, but a seven-goal final-quarter blitz from the Sharks put the result beyond doubt.

Roar 59 defeat Warriors 49

With their Fever Reserves athletes back in the mix, Roar looked closer to their dominant best on Wednesday night.

In her usual high-volume style, Roar’s Sophia Lamers piled on 41 goals, her accuracy rarely challenged by a Warriors defence missing captain Scarlet Jauncey.

GIG WANL returnee Annabel Saggers and young gun Eva Petkovic also helped reduce the influence of Warriors shooter Zoe Harper, who finished almost 20 goals down on her previous two outings.
