Round 3 consisted of impressive games held at Gold Netball Centre, Mandurah and Eaton. Don’t forget Round 4 kicks off on Tuesday, if you need a recap of Round 3 before then, here’s what you need to know.

Warriors 58 defeated by Sharks 62

The Sharks have once again managed a tight win, their third in a row this season. The Sharks started the game strong and took the lead in the first quarter, but it didn’t last long as the Warriors dominated the second. Fans no doubt had a sore neck after the third quarter, with both teams scoring 15 goals. Ultimately it was the Sharks who took home the four-goal win in the fourth quarter.

The Sharks Larrissa Harrison was a standout star with her 40 goals, assisted by Georgie Cleaver in the goal circle. Warrior Jamaica Jauncey once again put on a fighting performance for her team, with 32 goals in her pairing with Captain Hana Stokes.

Demons 54 defeated by Comets 55

The reigning premiers had quite the challenge this week, only beating the Southside Demons by one goal. Each quarter the leading team swapped, with the Comets only confirming their win in the last couple minutes of the game.

Comet Aitaua Enari managed an impressive 38 goals, with herself and Emma Cosh guaranteeing their win. Demons Meg Gallager, Nikala Cox and Ashleigh Neal effort in the goals meant they were so close to an upset over the Comets, and they will be a trio to watch as the season progresses.

Lightning 43 defeated by Rangers 56

The Rangers were just too good for the Lightning this week down in Mandurah. Taking control at the start of the game, the Rangers won every quarter but the third, where the Lightning took advantage of their home game and fought back.

Despite this, it wasn’t enough to get the Lightning over the line. The Rangers shooting duo Abbey Hicks and Kathryn Bryne scored a combined 53 goals, and Emily Cramond was crucial in the last minutes to score three in a row for their win.

Jets 33 defeated by Roar 57

The Western Roar were on fire on Saturday afternoon in Eaton, winning every quarter over the Souwest Jets for a 24-goal win. The Roar have now won every game so far this season, starting their campaign strongly. The Jets, who finished last season on the bottom of the ladder, put up a good fight against the 2023 Minor Premiers, demonstrating their continuous improvement.

Roar’s shooting combination of Sophia Lamers, Emma Putt, and Asha Parsons come out each week with consistent performances to guarantee success, with this round’s combined 57 goals no different.
