Annabel Saggers sparked Roar early with a quick intercept off a Comets centre pass that was converted into a goal, while Caitlyn Brown made her presence felt with an early rebound and a crucial pickup. Aitua Enari was solid under the post, keeping Comets composed as they looked looked to build momentum through Liz Dronfield’s defensive deflection. Despite trailing at stages, Roar forced Comets to work hard for every entry into the circle and levelled the scores by quarter-time.

The intensity continued through the second quarter, with both teams’ trading momentum in a contest that remained goal-for-goal for long stretches. Roar’s Teagan Begovic provided strong options in goal attack, helping open up the attacking end, while Comets defender Liz Dronfield stayed dangerous and ready to pounce for an intercept. Comets pushed hard to edge ahead, but Roar responded when Asha Parsons entered the game and made an immediate impact with a goal. Ella Taylor added defensive pressure for Comets with a deflection, but Roar carried a narrow one-goal advantage into half-time.

Saggers again found a way to win possession with an intercept, while the match continued to move goal-for-goal before Roar gradually established control. Comets captain Georgia Morgan remained a measured presence through the midcourt, leading her side with composure, but Roar’s depth proved important. With the pressure rising across the final 15 minutes, Roar took control when it mattered most. Sophia Lamers produced an essential grab and held her own under pressure, while offensive contacts from both teams reflected the growing intensity of the contest. Roar maintained their edge as Asha Parsons and Lamers combined strongly late, giving the side the spark it needed to finish with authority. Fittingly, captain Cleo Kenny sealed the result with an intercept, closing out another Grand Final triumph for Western Roar.
