Open: Comets v Sharks
With an even record of wins against each other throughout the regular season, neither team will leave anything on the court in their Preliminary Final face off.
Coming off the back of the first round of finals, the Comets will want another shot at the Roar after going down in the Qualifying by four goals. While the Sharks took a convincing 14-goal win over the Demons and will be looking to carrying on their good form.
The Comets managed a one-goal win over the Sharks in Round 5, but later in the season in the Sharks dominated in a 17-goal win, so Friday night will be anyone’s game.
Comets shooting trio Madeleine Ash, Emma Cosh and young gun Halle Richards will face the Sharks dangerous defensive pairing of the experienced Jess Penny and Fever’s 11th Player Ruth Aryang.
Both teams possess strong mid courts and their strong performances in the first round of finals matched their ability on paper. Sharks Jessica Repacholi and Indiana Squiers will be looking to take on Comets Lindal Rohde, Clara Wigley and Georgia Morgan in a battle which could determine the outcome of who plays the Roar in the decider.
The Sharks shooting end have both the experience and strong relationships to make them successful with Larissa Harrisson, Sophie Eastaugh and Georgie Cleaver all options in goals. They will have to get around Comets duo Liz Dronfield and the SSN experience of Ashlee Unie who will be doing their best to limit their shooting opportunities.

21: Roar v Rangers
The Western Roar won the Minor premiership for the 21/U season, but after their loss in the Qualifying Final they will be seeking a shot at redemption.
Facing the Rangers this week in the Preliminary, Roar’s Shooting end of Aisha Morcombe, Teagan Begovic and Devin Cunninghame will do their best to work around their opposition of Sophie Hunt and Grace Jooste.
Emily Rivers and Kate Cunningham, who make up Roar’s defence, will have full focus on Rangers Jade Dimer, Emily Cramon and Isabella Harding in goals.
Roar have beaten the Rangers both times they have played each other this season, by 17 the first time and 31 the second, but as the first round of finals proved, anything can happen at the business end of the season.
Watch the game on Friday night at 6:30pm on Streamer.
Men: Comets v Rangers
In what has been a dominant season for the Western Roar as a club, the Roar Men are also straight into the Grand Final. Only the Comets and Rangers are left to fight it out for the remaining spot.
The Comets, who at the conclusion of the regular season sat second on the ladder, only lost to Roar by three goals in the Qualifying Final and will no doubt come out fighting for that Grand Final spot.
In their first season of GIG WANL, Rangers finished third and accounted for the Warriors with a dominant performance and will be looking to keep their maiden season alive.
Marcus Cronan and Griff Thomas from the Comets shooting side will need to be on their A game against the Rangers defence of Tobiasz Millar and Andrew Popovic.
The Rangers shooter’s Jerome Gillbard, Luke Birnie and Mich Woodley will test their accuracy against the Comets defence of Guy Ramsay, Wade Moore and Liam Bailye.
Will it be a repeat of the 2023 decider or can the Rangers make it through to the Grand Final in their first season – we will find out on Friday Night.
