Held on the WA Day Long weekend from 1 to 3 June, 43 Associations and more than 300 teams will take part in the championships which provides an opportunity for player, coach and umpire talent identification, as well as the ability to measure their pathway progressions against one another.
The 2023 competition was packed with talent, over 300 teams and 3,500 individual players competed across the weekend, with 23 different Associations taking home a trophy.
The Association to beat this year will be Perth Netball Association who last year took home six trophies, the most across the competition.
Athletes will travel as far Esperance and Kununurra in WA, as well as 16 invitational teams from Singapore, and two interstate teams from the Northern Territory.
Fourteen teams will feature in the No Limits Division providing an opportunity for players with an intellectual disability to participate in Netball WA’s signature event. The division has grown this year with a new entrant from Success Netball Association competing against the other No Limits teams on Saturday 1 June.
Boys will feature in their own division on Sunday 2 June with four teams from Wanneroo Districts, Kalamunda & Districts and a combined team from Manjimup and Bridgetown competing in the 15 Under age group.
The championships will form the centrepiece of Netball WA’s Centenary celebrations with a “History Lane” on display inside the Gold Netball Centre, depicting the history of the game in Western Australia.
You can also purchase your copy of the Netball WA Centenary book: Netball’s Century in the West: 100 years of Passion and Success on site on the weekend.
