Service to Western Australian netball spanning four decades gathered on Friday for the seventh annual Netball WA Past Presidents’ lunch.
Newly appointed Netball WA President Grant Robinson and CEO Simon Taylor were joined by four former presidents at Odyssea, City Beach.
The lunch served as an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past, but also to look ahead to the future.
Grant Robinson was welcomed by the group as Netball WA President, after he was elected as Deane Pieters’ successor in May.
Robinson joined the Netball WA Board in July last year and has also acted as Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee. Boasting a wealth of experience across a range of industries, he was Senior Partner at KPMG for more than 30 years and currently holds key roles on a number of WA Boards.
Past presidents attending the event included Shirley Doornbusch (nee Ayre) (1986-1989), Gayle Watson-Galbraith (1999-2004), Sue Taylor AM (2005-2006), and outgoing Netball WA President Deane Pieters (2014-2019).
The Netball WA Past Presidents’ lunch was established in 2013 as part of the governing body’s commitment to celebrating the rich history of the game in our State.
