Netball WA has established its first ever Youth Advisory Group and is proud to announce the members of the group for 2023.

The members are:

Jasmyn Black Success Netball Association
Maizie Brown Busselton Netball Association
Charlotte Cove Wanneroo Districts Netball Association
Simone Dalkin West Coast Warriors
Ashley Farrell Perth Netball Association
Madalyn Francis Bunbury Netball Association
Layla Mansell Rockingham & Districts Netball Association
Mark McCoach Curtin Hamersley Comets

The Youth Advisory Group will meet every six weeks until the end of this year with a wide range of topics to be discussed. From providing feedback on surveys, to providing insight into issues at club and association level and bringing ideas on how to grow netball and keep our youth involved in our great sport, this group is shaping up to be a fabulous experience for both Netball WA and young people alike.

The establishment of the group aligns with NWA’s commitment to creating a Child Safe Organisation and ensures inclusive consultation processes are embedded throughout the organisation.

Every person in the netball community in WA has a responsibility to understand their role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care. Referring to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, Principle Number 2 states the following:

Children and young people are informed about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.

This group will allow young people to have an active voice in promoting child safeguarding in WA, in addition to providing a youth perspective to other areas of our organisation.
