Netball WA, in conjunction with its Major Partner, Healthway, are proud to launch the Healthy Associations Reform.
Across the course of 2021, a number of programs will be rolled out to Netball WA’s Associations, further integrating the Fuel to Go & Play message into the largest sport women and girls in the State.
Representatives from Netball WA’s Tier 1 Associations will work through the Fuel to Go & Play Accreditation Program across the year, while also working with the WA School Canteens Association to improve the range of healthy food options sold.
The Army of Educators modules will again be rolled out to all Associations, providing a valuable opportunity for administrators at the grassroots level to give feedback, while also furthering their knowledge of healthy food and drink promotion.
Netball WA General Manager of Community Netball, Liz Booth, said it was an exciting time for the sport.
“We’re really proud to be working alongside our long-standing Major Partner in Healthway to rollout these programs across the course of the year,” Booth said.
“Our purpose is advancing netball, advancing communities, and these programs and strategies work toward making our community a healthier place.”
“I look forward to working with Healthway and our Associations in 2021 to roll these programs out.”
Healthway’s Director Health Promotion, Julia Knapton said Fuel to Go & Play aims to create healthier food environments in community venues.
“The netball court is a fantastic venue to develop healthy habits and in tandem with the Fuel to Go and Play message participants will now have multiple healthy options off the court as well,” Ms Knapton said.
“We’re excited Healthway and netball are working together on this new initiative to empower the community to adopt healthier lifestyles.”
