Netball WA would like to congratulate President, Grant Robinson, on his recent appointment as Assistant Auditor General in the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) within the WA Government. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for Grant and his return to full time work will see him leading the largest division of the OAG.
Given the nature and time commitment required for the role, as well as the link a number of WA Government agencies have with Netball WA and its related entities, Grant will be stepping down from the Board and as President of Netball WA effective 5 July 2021. He has also recently stepped down from his other Government Board positions, such as North Metropolitan Health Service and Zoological Parks Authority Board.
Grant said of his departure, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to be a board member and President of this wonderful organisation, and I wish Netball WA, and all associated with it all the success in the future. I thank the staff, executive and Board members of Netball WA, West Coast Fever and Glass Jar Australia for all their commitment, professionalism and support over the journey. I will continue to support and advocate for this great sport in WA.”
CEO of Netball WA, Simone Hansen acknowledged Grant’s significant contribution to Netball WA.
“Grant became a Board member in July 2018 and President in April 2019 and has been heavily involved with key achievements at Netball WA since his appointment, including the announcement of a sport-wide partnership with the Gold Industry Group, roll-out of the Regional Office Structure which saw more than 20 new staff members employed across the state and the establishment of the Metro League competition”.
“Grant has also provided pivotal leadership and support across the organisation during his tenure.”
“Netball WA thanks Grant for his contribution to the sport in WA,” Ms Hansen said.
Current Netball WA and West Coast Fever board member, Craig Heatley will become the Acting President of Netball WA in the interim while a permanent replacement for the role is identified.
Netball WA is also delighted to announce the appointment of two new directors, Jacqui Jashari and Trish Robinson who have joined the Netball WA Board.
Jacqui is a Life Member of Netball WA and joins the Netball WA and West Coast Fever Boards with an extensive knowledge of netball and the broader sporting industry at both state and national level. In her current role of Manager, Sport Business at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Jacqui advises and works with State Sporting Associations and Peak Bodies to improve and develop strategy, business management and governance.
