Netball WA, in their partnership with Insurance Commission of Western Australia, have once again spent the year ensuring the message of seat belt safety is felt all across the state, driven through the vehicle of netball.

Through this crucial partnership, over 70,000 free netballs have been delivered to local Club’s throughout the State since 2014, and Netball WA and delighted to continue such a partnership into 2026.

In 2025, each senior club team was being provided with five Belt Up branded Gilbert netballs. The iconic green and red netballs are recognisable as they fly across the court continuing to promote this important message.

Belt Up is the Insurance Commission’s road safety awareness campaign to promote the use of seatbelts on WA roads to reduce the severity of injury in the event of a crash.

Every year, almost one hundred people are killed or seriously injured in car crashes in Western Australia while not wearing a seat belt. That could be your teammate, your friend, your brother or your sister.

The Insurance Commission wants to reduce these numbers by putting the Belt Up message directly in the hands of the netball community.

These Belt Up branded netballs should serve as a reminder to belt up at all times.

Check out some pictures of local Club’s using the Belt Up balls on our social media.
