Netball WA has appointed Linda O'Farrell to the Netball WA Board to fill a Casual Vacancy.

An accomplished senior executive and experienced non-executive director, Ms O’Farrell brings an extensive background in organisational culture, workforce strategy, governance and leadership developed across some of Australia's leading organisations, including Fortescue, Newcrest, BHP and Mount Gibson Iron.

Ms O’Farrell currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of SRG Global, Austin Engineering, Rocky Bay Limited and Lifeline Australia. She is also well known within the Netball WA community, having served as an Independent Member of the Netball WA Governance & Nominations Committee for the past two years.

Ms O’Farrell holds a Bachelor of Economics with Honours in Industrial Relations from the University of Western Australia and is a member of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Chief Executive Women.

Netball WA Group CEO Simone Hansen said Ms O’Farrell’s experience and values would be a significant asset to the organisation.

"Linda brings an exceptional combination of executive leadership, governance expertise and a deep commitment to community wellbeing.

“Her experience guiding organisational culture and strategy across major Australian businesses, coupled with her existing understanding of Netball WA, will further strengthen our Board as we continue to grow and deliver positive outcomes for our members, athletes, clubs and community."

Ms O’Farrell said she was excited to contribute to the future of netball in Western Australia.

"Netball brings together community, health and wellbeing and opportunities for people to develop, all of which are really important to me," Ms O’Farrell said.

"It's a privilege to serve on the Board of Netball WA and I look forward to contributing to the work in growing the sport and its community impact."

Ms O’Farrell will fill the Casual Vacancy until the Netball Annual General Meeting in May next year.
