At the conclusion of the night, Madison Schokker (NWAPNA) was awarded the highest recognition of the College, the Academic Excellence Award, which is presented to the best academic student from the whole SEDA 2023 cohort across all sports.
Madison has been an integral and valuable work placement student at Netball WA during 2023, assisting and supporting with the management of the Gold Industry Group WA Netball League.
In its 10th year, the SEDA Netball Program also took home the Growth Award presented to Geneva Bedford (NWALOF) and the Accountability Award to Brooklyn Stainforth (NWAPNA).
Netball WA General Manager Community Netball Beth Harvey said it was great to see netball strongly represented among the award winners.
“To have SEDA Netball students presenting and also winning their categories in the College Values Award is fantastic recognition for the SEDA Netball Program and the partnership between SEDA and Netball WA,” Ms Harvey said.
“The partnership had its largest cohort of netball classes in 2023 with four classes making their the through the program, which first begun in 2013.
“Netball WA is very proud of all the award winners and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. We hope to see them around the netball courts utilising the knowledge and skills they have gained from the program.”
