Both Peel Lightning athlete Marene Peyper and Southside Demons Club Captain Meg Gallager hit their 100th GIG WANL match on Wednesday night, an incredible achievement for two beloved members of the GIG WANL community.

Southside Demons 59 defeat Fremantle Sharks 49

The second place Southside Demons have been able to maintain their placing with a 10-goal win over the Fremantle Sharks.

After a neck and neck first two quarters with the Sharks ahead by one, the Demons came back on from half time with a fire under them.

The side shared their shooting between Kelsey McPhee (21), milestone player Meg Gallager (14), Brooke Marques (13), Georgia Ettridge (eight) and Georgia Pitt (three). Their ability to swap in fresh legs in goals kept the sides momentum up.

For the Sharks, it was once again all about Kasey Ridout, whose fantastic performance in Goal Shooter earnt her 40 goals. Ridout was joined by Kathryn Byrne (nine).

West Coast Warriors 62 defeat Rangers 33

The West Coast Warriors dominated on Wednesday night, with a 29-goal win over the Rangers.

Abbey Hicks (13), Emily Cramond (11) and Aisha Morcombe (nine) were all standouts for the young Ranger side, but it wasn’t enough against the strength of the Warriors side.

Scarlet Jauncey, Liza Ball and Gardenia Asiata make up one of the fiercest defensive line-ups in the competition and used it to control the match.

Jamiaca Jauncey continues to shine with 51 goals to herself, joined by Emily Dwyer (nine) and Kayla Rasmussen (two).

Such a big win puts the Warriors in an interesting position where they are below the Demons by one loss, but higher than them on percentage.

Western Roar 50 defeat Peel Lightning 42

After a solid performance with a six-goal lead by the Western Roar in the first quarter, the Peel Lightning fought incredibly hard to keep themselves in the match and went down by eight to the reigning premiers.

Lightning’s Chelsea Cook went home with 23, joined by another milestone athlete Marene Peyper’s 10, and Rebecca Lill’s nine.

Roar’s Sophia Lamers (33) and Asha Parsons (17) knowledge of each other and their team continues to put them in good stead.

West Coast Fever training partner and reserves athlete Caitlyn Brown was a defensive wall and provided a strong barrier to goal alongside Chelsea Barlett.

Comets 71 defeat Souwest Jets 42

The Comets have proved that when they’re on, they’re on, taking down the Souwest Jets by 29 goals.

Jasmah Haywood (31) and Sloan Burton (26) had a night out in goals, joined by Madeleine Ash (14).

Captain Georgia Morgan found herself in centre for all four quarters and provided a solid option for her team down the court.

21/U Jets athlete Lily Knight continues to shine, taking 17 goals in her elevated game.

Catch up with the West Coast Warriors and the Rangers 21/U and Men’s games on Streamer.
