Netball WA and Mazda have announced the most significant automotive partnership in the history of WA netball, with Mazda becoming a Major Partner of West Coast Fever and a Partner of Netball WA.

Encompassing all tiers of the sport from grassroots to the elite level, Mazda’s partnership will see a range of branding, signage and activation opportunities implemented over the next two years at Suncorp Super Netball games, community netball competitions and events.

Mazda will also support the WA Netball Community Raffle, providing one of its award-winning Mazda vehicles as the major prize, and have signage displayed inside the Gold Netball Centre.

Netball WA and West Coast Fever CEO Simone Hansen said the partnership provided a major boost to the sport in WA and thanked Mazda for their commitment.

“This support from Mazda significantly contributes to the success and sustainability of netball in Western Australia and helps our sport continue connecting the community,” Hansen said.

“At a time when COVID-19 is having a major impact on the sustainability of so many businesses, we greatly appreciate how important this partnership is and what a great reflection it is on Mazda’s commitment to the community.”

Bill Pattison, Mazda Australia State Manager for WA, said the partnership reflects a shared goal to give back to the WA community.

“Mazda and Netball WA share a common vision to enhance and enrich our communities; we’re proud to partner with an organisation that weaves such a significant thread in the fabric of our state,” Mr Pattison said.

The partnership announcement adds to a significant year for West Coast Fever, which also includes celebrating the 25th anniversary of the club’s origins as the Perth Orioles and expanding its footprint to integrate more than 60 athletes from across WA into a new club structure.

This new structure will encompass 17s and 19s West Coast Fever Futures Squads, re-branding Western Sting as West Coast Fever Reserves to represent WA at the Australian Netball Championships, and formalising the involvement of four elite men in West Coast Fever’s training environment.
