The North West Regional Championships took place from June 13-16 at Karratha Leisureplex and saw the Karratha Netball Association make history.

Thirty-four teams competed across eight associations including Broome, Derby, Tom Price, Paraburdoo, Wickham, Karratha, Porth Hedland and Newman.

Karratha Netball Association have made history as the first ever Association to win every Grand Final at the North West Regional Championships, an incredible effort.

Divisions:

12/U

The 12/U division consisted of eight teams and ended with a Grand Final made up of two Karratha teams, a testament to their dominance over the weekend.

The Karratha NA “Blue” side took a 29-goal win over the “White” side in the Grand Final after winning every match throughout the tournament.

Results:

14/U

Seven teams made up the 14/U division, with Broome and Karratha NA (Blue) fighting it out in the Grand Final.

Broome had produced an impressive performance throughout the competition, only going down to Karratha (Blue) across the weekend. Ultimately, it was Karratha (Blue) who took the highest prize with a 22 goal Grand Final win.

Results:

U17 Girls

The under 17s division was another close match up between a Karratha (white) and Broome side in the Grand Final. Broome managed a win over Karratha (white) in round one and continued to take some big wins throughout the weekend.

As always for a Grand Final it’s the best team on the day who will take the prize. It was Karratha (white) who took a 17-goal win and ended the championship as winners.

Results:

Masters

With a smaller division of only five teams, the Masters division allowed for every team to shine.

Karratha (white) once again took the Grand Final home with a 16-goal win over Broome after winning four out of five of their regular games.

Results:

Open Division One

The Open’s Division One was the smallest of the championship, with only three teams the squads had plenty of time to get used to each other’s styles of play before the Grand Final.

Another Broome v Karratha Grand Final saw Karratha win by 10 goals, a fantastic effort by the side after going down to Broome earlier in the weekend.

Results:

Open Division Two

The Open Division Two was another Karratha full Grand Final, with two sides from the Association competing in the five-team division.

After winning every single game throughout the weekend, the Karratha NA took a ten-goal win over their 21/U counterpart.

Results:
