The Great Southern Regional Championships were held in Albany over the weekend, showcasing a fantastic display of Great Southern talent, with the home side taking out every division.

The Regional Championships also provided an opportunity to acknowledge those within the region for their hard work and dedication.

Netball WA Life Member Beryl Determes was invited to present the Great Southern Volunteer Achievement Award and the inaugural Spirit of Netball Award.

Congratulations to recipient Jodie Wignall from Albany Netball Association, who was recognised for her dedication to the values of the association through her roles as player, coach, selector, team manager and committee member.

The inaugural Spirit of Netball Award went to the 12U Kojonup Netball Team for its enthusiasm, pride, positive behaviour, resilience and teamwork, as well as the positive manner in which the coach and manager interacted with the players.

Congratulations also went to Rising Star Coach Lynley Neill from Esperance Netball Association and Rising Star Umpire Katie Musgrave from Albany Netball Association.

Umpires were also acknowledged for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to Sharni Martin from Esperance Netball Association and Terehia Watene from Kojonup Netball Association on receiving their C Badges. Mackenzie Sutherland from Albany Netball Association also received her B Badge.

Saturday was an extra exciting day with two No Limits exhibition matches, showcasing plenty of talent and passion.
