Gold Round is named after our Principal Partner, the Gold Industry Group and all that they do for the WA Netball League.

Multiple close games, star debuts and a passionate atmosphere made up Round Five of the GIG WANL season.

West Coast Warriors 45 defeat Peel Lightning 44

Heading into Gold Round, the Warriors and Lightning were only separated on the ladder by percentage.

Both teams reacted quickly in goals, not allowing the other to take a genuine lead throughout the entire game.

West Coast Fever Training Partner and Club Ambassador Kelsey Browne made her GIG WANL debut halfway through the second quarter. Browne rolled into the Wing Attack bib and assisted Rebecca Lill with a goal.

The moment of the game was in the final 25 seconds, a missed goal from Lightning’s Marene Peyper translated into a defensive rebound by Liza Ball. Ball, alongside Scarlet Jauncey and Gardenia Asiata transitioned into attack and ran the clock down in the final seconds to win by one goal.
