Round Four this year was better known as the Gold Round thanks to Netball WA’s Principal Partner the Gold Industry Group. Gold Round featured every game across all three divisions at Gold Netball Centre on Tuesday night.

Comets 64 defeated Warriors 41

The Comets are winning their way through the season so far, with another successful game against the Warriors. Comet Aitaua Enari had an outstanding game with 50 goals, her best so far in 2024. Enari and Emma Cosh were a great pairing in the circle, reading each other so well they were able to turn an almost out of court ball into a goal.

Warriors defender Elena Damianopouulos was strong in defence with some great intercepts to keep the squad in the game. Tuesday night was also an exciting sister vs sister matchup, with Comet Scarlet Jauncey facing her sister Jamaica Jauncey in the circle.

Sharks 60 defeated Rangers 48

The Sharks are off to a great start this season, having also won every game so far. Tuesday night’s game looked like it would be another very close game for the Sharks until they took the lead over the Rangers in the third quarter.

Sharks’ shooter Larrissa Harrison once again had an impressive game with 38 goals, alongside Sophie Eastaugh as the pair almost looked impossible to beat in the second quarter.

In defence West Coast Fever Training Partner Ruth Aryang continues her comeback from an ACL injury and is getting better with each appearance, constantly putting herself in the contest with some crucial intercepts.

The Sharks weren’t able to win quietly, the Rangers took the first quarter by one, drew in the last, and kept very close in the second, with their mid-court controlling the ball well.

Western Roar 60 defeated Lightning 36

The Western Roar, who are topping the ladder so far, controlled every quarter against the Lightning. Roar were quick at moving the ball down the court, and new Fever Training Partner Emma Putt was once again consistent in goals.

Lightning centre Emily Smith had some huge intercepts and was constantly putting herself in the contest. Kasey Ridout and Rebecca Lill also did well in the goals for the Lightning.

Demons 52 defeated by Jets 42

The Open Demons and Jets battled it out in their first face off for 2024. Demon Centre Tahlia McSweeney never stopped working during the game to deliver the ball into the goals.

Jet Rylee Hall scored 40 goals and Demon Meg Gallager scored 31, both players are impressing week after week. Jet veteran Brooke O’Connor was very strong in defence, working hard to keep the margin to the Demons small throughout the game.

Despite the close game, the Demons were slightly stronger each quarter to take home the win.
