The 2020 Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League Grand Final night is set to reach new heights on Friday night at the Gold Netball Centre.
Once again, the 20U, Open and Men’s deciders will all be played on the same night, as the league crowns its three champions.
In the Open Division, the West Coast Warriors will look to cap off a close to flawless season and be crowned back to back champions. However, the Curtin Hamersley Comets will be out to minimise Warriors’ impact as they have impressively secured a spot in the 2020 grand final after a winless 2019 season.
In the 20U Division, the Western Roar will also look to finish their season on a high, after only dropping one game so far, however they will be up against the East Freo Sharks who defeated Roar with a two-goal win last time they met in Round 13.
In the Men’s Division, once again we will see the West Coast Warriors go head to head with Western Roar as they battle it out for the 2020 title.
Netball WA Chief Executive Officer, Simon Taylor said
“This year has been a challenging one for our sport and I am so proud to see the best competition in the state able to take place,” said Taylor.
“Due to various COVID-19 restrictions we’ve seen this season delayed and the competition format altered, and I am incredibly proud of all the athletes, coaches, umpires and Netball WA staff who have adapted and embraced the opportunity to come together for each other and our sport.”
“It has been an incredibly close season across all three grades, and whilst I personally won’t be able to attend, as I am in the Queensland Hub as West Coast Fever gear up for their own grand final, I am certain it will be a great evening of elite netball.”
“I wish all competing teams the very best of luck and encourage their respective fans to come along in team colours and cheer your teams to victory.”
The 2020 season has been presented by Netball WA’s Principal Partner, the Gold Industry Group, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia promoting the Belt Up campaign, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the University of Western Australia.
Entry to the Gold Netball Centre on Grand Final night is $15 for adults and $10 for concession.
