Match of the Week: Queens of the court

A competitive match between Western Roar and Curtin Comets saw Roar fly to the finish at 57- 49.

Quarter One

Roar’s defence in the goal third set them up for a strong start in the match.

Comets pushed back with the midcourt leading down the line, allowing the shooters to level the score.

Comets’ speed and agility gained them a four goal advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Quarter Two

Comets surged ahead, extending their lead to 6 goals early in the second term.

A few unlucky turn overs against Comets allowed Roar to close the gap to a two goal margin.

Great consistency and aggression in the goal third from both sides brought the score to 26-25, to Comets, at half time.

Quarter Three

Warriors found another gear in defence, gaining rebounds from Comets’ shooters.

Warriors pulled ahead for the first time this match, putting the Comets on the back foot.

Comets managed to regain control of the game, maintaining their one goal lead ahead of the final quarter.

Quarter Four

Both teams raced neck and neck toward the finish line, with neither able to gain the advantage.

Roar made better use of space, moving the ball swiftly to their shooters.

Showing their stamina and experience as a team, Roar captured a 6 goal win against Warriors.
