Match of the Week: Warriors Winning Streak

West Coast Warriors went head-to-head against East Freo Sharks on Friday night where Warriors came out on top scoring 54 goals to Sharks 41 goals.

Highlights

East Freo Sharks attacker Kianah Davey made her season debut on Friday night.

West Coast Warriors attacker Kellie Baker was on the ball, making great passes and intercepts in centre court.

West Coast Warriors found great connections in the circle through shooters Hana Stokes and Hayley Mckee.

Quarter One

Sharks and Warriors kept the score board close in the first term.

Fumbled passes from both teams offered plenty of turn over opportunities which kept the centre court players busy.

Sharks defended well in the circle, putting pressure on Warriors’ shots and passes.

After a very fast-paced first quarter, Warriors lead the game by one goal.

Quarter Two

Warriors extended their lead through patient passes and determination around the goal circle.

Great vision down the court by Warriors’ defenders made for quick transitions between defence and offense.

Sharks brought the score back to a tie with five goals in quick succession.

A very competitive second quarter saw Warriors continue to lead 26-21.

Quarter Three

Warriors dominated in the goal circle early in the second half, leaving Sharks behind.

Although on the shorter side, Warriors’ shooters worked well to open up space in the goal circle, giving them great goal opportunities.

Shark trail ten points behind ahead of the final term.

Quarter Four

Warriors defended well down the court, shutting down Sharks’ leads and changing the pace of the game.

Sharks began to tire and their passing errors became goal opportunities for Warriors.

Warriors closed the game with a 13 goal lead, continuing their winning streak.
