Match of the Week: Demons Victorious

The start of a big weekend of netball saw Southside Demons take on Souwest Jets on Friday night, with Demons sweeping away their opponents finishing on a score of 70-45.

Quarter One

Jets were strong to start, breaking away to a two goal lead early in the first quarter.

Demons were unable to find their rhythm, resulting in turnovers which allowed Jets to power ahead.

A strategic player substitution on Demons side turns the momentum in their favour allowing them to lead by three goals going in to the first break.

Quarter Two

Demons maintained their momentum in the second term, extending their lead to five goals.

Demons defenders stayed on the tails of Jets, taking advantage of any missed shots or stray passes.

Jets were unable to match Demons pace down the court as their opponents scored goal after goal bringing the score to 35-22.

Quarter Three

Jets had a strong start to the third term, beating Demons off the whistle.

Jets attempted some risky feeds into their goal circle, some of which paid off.

It was goal for goal in the third quarter with neither Demons nor Jets able to gain the momentum.

Demons led Jets 14 goals ahead of the final quarter.

Quarter Four

All the momentum was with Demons in the fourth quarter as Jets began to trail further behind.

Demons’ shooters were unstoppable in the circle, working well as a team to make space and attack the ball.

Jets fell short of victory by 25 goals.
