The Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League will host Indigenous Round this Sunday, May 30, at the Gold Netball Centre in Jolimont.
Being held as part of National Reconciliation Week from May 27 to June 3, GIG WANL Indigenous Round will see all Open, 20U and Men’s teams play over the course of the day.
Seven of the WANL Clubs will be donning Indigenous warm up shirts, playing uniforms or bibs for their matches, thanks to the support of the Gold Industry Group, which has provided $500 grants to support Indigenous Round.
A Welcome to Country will be conducted by Shaun Nannup between the first and second timeslots at approximately 12pm, followed by a Q&A between the second and third timeslots just before 2pm, when club representatives will answer questions regarding their uniform design and what Indigenous Round means to them and their team.
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
