More than 3,500 players from across Western Australia will converge on Perth for the 2023 Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships, set to be played over the WA Day long weekend from Saturday 3 June to Monday 5 June.

The three-day competition has been running since the 1950s and this year will see 300 plus teams from across 40 associations ranging from as far south as Esperance to Karratha in the north, descend onto the courts of the Gold Netball Centre and Perth Netball Association. Divisions include 12 & Under all the way to Masters with five Boys teams also competing on Saturday.

A No Limits Division will once again feature as part of the competition, providing an opportunity for players with an intellectual disability to participate in a competitive environment. We are also excited to host 18 Invitational teams travelling to Perth from Singapore, which is the first time since 2019 we have had an international presence.

Netball WA General Manager – Community Netball Beth Harvey said the Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships are an important event to recognise and celebrate the Netball Community from across the State.

“The Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships are a great opportunity to see the wealth of talent that we have across Western Australia with teams travelling from near and far to compete over the long weekend,” Harvey said.

“It is brilliant to see people coming together to support West Australian Netball and I would like to extend a huge thank you to the amazing support we receive from volunteers, coaches, umpires and officials who assist in running this event.

“Association Champs is an important chance for us to develop and identify talented players, coaches and umpires and ensure the WA Netball Pathway continues to produce talent, at the same time as providing opportunities for our members to be exposed to another level of competition.

“Netball WA would like to acknowledge our partners and supporters who help us deliver this major Netball event. In particular Netball WA would like to acknowledge Healthway and the Fuel to Go & Play team, who we have worked collaboratively with over the past four years to create a healthier sporting event.

“Thank you to our other key partners who support the event, the Gold Industry Group, Fortescue, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia promoting the Belt Up campaign, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Town of Cambridge and the Perth Netball Association.”
