A new-look West Coast Fever Reserves Team has been named for next month’s Australian Netball Championships to be held at the Morayfield Sports and Events Centre from 21 to 27 August.

Returning to the team for 2023 are: Caitlyn Brown, Sloan Burton, Emma Putt, Jessica Repacholi, Ella Taylor and Numi Tupaea. Making up the remainder of the squad are Fever Training Partners Jordan Cransberg and Ruth Aryang as well as debutants Jasmah Haywood, Georgie Cleaver, Cleo Kenny and Chelsea Bartlett.

West Coast Fever Reserves Head Coach Guy Keane said ANC was a great opportunity to showcase the talent and depth of WA netball.

“The 2023 West Coast Fever Reserves team is an exciting group of talented WA athletes which demonstrates the ability of the Club to grow our athletes through connected pathways and targeted resourcing, which has given them the opportunity to shine on the national stage and inspire them on their netball journey,” Keane said.

“With the squad having an average age of just under 22, this demonstrates the impressive emerging talent in our pathway programs, and we are looking forward to providing them a platform to test themselves against the best in the country.”

Keane said the championships would provide great opportunities for WA’s rising stars.

“Our four debutant athletes have been selected based on their strong performances at the National Netball Championships in Darwin and in GIG WA Netball League, which is reward for their hard work and dedication to the pathway.

“I am looking forward to working with the squad and support staff as we look to improve on last year’s performance and hopefully, develop the next generation of West Coast Fever talent.”

West Coast Fever Training Partner Zoe Cransberg was ruled out of the championships due to a foot injury.

The second edition of the championships will be contested between 11 teams including the Adelaide Thunderbirds Futures, Firebirds Futures, Capital Darters, Collingwood Magpies, GIANTS Netball Academy, QBE Swifts Academy, Sunshine Coast Lightning Bolts, Tasmania Wild, Territory Storm and Victorian Fury.

The 2023 Australian Netball Championships will be available to watch live, on-demand, and free via Kayo Freebies.
