Since it began in 2017, the 16 Days in WA aims to raise awareness, motivate positive action and highlight organisations, agencies, communities and individuals taking action to end violence against women.
Throughout this vital campaign, the Netball WA and West Coast Fever social media channels will glow orange, symbolising netball’s unwavering support.
Fever athletes will also wear orange training bibs during their pre-season sessions, showcasing the athletes’ commitment to this important cause.
Netball WA Group Chief Executive Officer Simone Hansen emphasised the significance of the 16 Days in WA campaign.
“By supporting the 16 Days in WA campaign, we aim to ignite change and take a stand against violence towards women,” Ms Hansen said.
“Our commitment extends beyond these 16 days; we will also continuously promote education and support regarding Family and Domestic Violence throughout the year.
“As an organization, we believe it is our responsibility to educate our netball community about family and domestic violence and to guide those in need towards the support they deserve.”
West Coast Fever Captain Jess Anstiss said expressed her pride in being an agent of change for the 16 Days in WA campaign.
“I am determined to see an end to family and domestic violence, and I am committed to playing my part in this movement, Anstiss said.
“If we all rise together and take action, not just during these 16 days but every single day, we can foster positive behaviours and create lasting change.”
