The Fever Training Partner, who appeared twice for the Club at Suncorp Super Netball level in 2023, will be supported by 2022 Jill McIntosh Medallist Caitlyn Brown as Vice Captain.
Cransberg said it would be special to lead the young Fever Reserves Team at ANC after the group voted for her as Captain.
“I just want to go out and not change too much about my game. I want to be a role model and use my experience to help everyone along,” Cransberg said.
“Even though we are all a bit younger everyone has something to contribute, and I think we are all relaxed together, we are all comfortable having those conversations no matter who you are and what experience you have.
“Hopefully I can feed off my SSN and ANC experience, especially the off court during the week to help out with recovery and making sure the team is ready for each match.”
Cransberg said the team was comfortable having tough conversations and was very connected on and off the court.
“We talked about making sure we are all on the same page and that is going to be very important at ANC,” she said.
“We have a pretty good advantage because we know each other quite well already so just making sure we stay connected off the court as well as on the court and that will set us up for the week.”
Fever Training Partner Ruth Aryang has been ruled out of ANC as she continues her rehabilitation from a knee injury. She has been replaced in the team by Hamersley Comets defender Liz Dronfield.
West Coast Fever Head of Performance Liam Warwick said the Club was taking a cautious approach with Aryang’s return to netball.
“Given the back-to-back match play at ANC, we just felt it was too risky for Ruth to be playing in a tournament-style competition at this stage of her rehabilitation,” Warwick said.
“We believe this decision will give Ruth the best chance to be fully fit for pre-season training and have her ready to attack 2024.”
The 2023 Australian Netball Championships will be held between 21 and 27 August and are available to watch free, live and on-demand via Kayo Freebies.
